Located in the middle of west peninsular, Kuala Lumpur is the capital city as well as the economical and political hub of the Malaysia. The most prominent building in the city is Petronas Twin Tower, which boast 88 storey in height, and was once the tallest building in the world until 2004.
Other interesting places to visit in peninsular Malaysia include Penang Island, the second largest city in the country. For natural attraction, Sipadan and Penang Island are among the top choices for beach vacations. For more adventurous vacations, the tropical rain forest in the state of Pahang is the best option.
Transportation in Malaysia
Most of the cities in Malaysia are well developed and expressway connecting cities within the peninsular are well established. Travel can be arranged by buses, trains or by air.
Currently there are conventional airlines and budget airlines operating between selected cities both domestically and internationally. Major airports in the Peninsular are Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and Penang International airport. The existence of budget airlines has made traveling to East Malaysia, namely Sabah and Sarawak, more economical and convenient.
Official language in Malaysia
The official language is Bahasa Malaysia (Malay). English is widely spoken throughout Malaysia. Mandarin, Tamil and some other dialects are also common as local language.
Best Time to Travel to Malaysia
Tropical climate is warm and humid with temperature ranges from 21癈 to 34癈 all year round. Generally, anytime is a good time to travel to most parts of Malaysia for vacation. However, if you are traveling to the east coast of the peninsular, the period from mid April to September is best because these coastline is subjected to monsoon from the South China Sea from October to March.

Malaysian Ringgit (RM) is the official currency. One Ringgit consists of 100 cents.
